About Mukilteo Mukilteo is a scenic waterfront community on Puget Sound in southern Snohomish County, 25 miles north of Seattle. It offers views of the Olympic and Northern Cascade Mountains, with around 35 inches of annual precipitation and moderate weather from May through October.
History Mukilteo, meaning “a good camping ground” in a Native American language, is where the 1855 Point Elliott Treaty was signed. The first settlement was established in 1858. Incorporated in 1947, the city expanded in 1980 and 1991, now covering 6.6 square miles with a population of 21,350 as of April 2019.
Attractions The 1906 Mukilteo Light Station at Lighthouse Park features a beach, picnic area, and boat launch. Mukilteo is a regional hub for the State Ferry System to Whidbey Island.
Community Mukilteo offers shopping, dining, parks, and proximity to major employers like Boeing and Paine Field Regional Airport. It’s a vibrant, diverse community with a strong sense of pride and history.
